White Horses of Camargue

The stocky Carmargue French or Cheval de Camargue horse is a traditional breed of working horse indigenous to the Camargue area in S France. For thousands of years, they lived wild in the harsh salt marshes and wetlands of the Rohne delta. They have been used to manage and herd bulls used for bull fighting that is still practiced in the region.
